8 weeks down - 3 goals complete!
I passed 40 hours of improv for the year. I didn’t realize how fast this would happen! Since we’re less than a quarter of the year
complete, now I’m wondering if I could have 40 hours there where I’m in the
performance. I’m currently at 15 hours
so if we stay on pace, this too could happen.
Other news
for the week included a big week of cycling (113 miles) despite a few days of
traveling. Spring seems to finally be pushing
winter aside so hopefully the outdoor goals will start to move here.
I also have
another book recommendation, at least for nerds of my age. Ready Player One was a really fun book with
all sorts of 80s references. It makes
you think about the future world – I hope we don’t go to where the story
suggests we will, but if we do, I sincerely hope there’s still heroes like
there are in the book. Speaking of book
recommendations – I’m also focusing on getting more sleep and it’s paying
off. I’m feeling better and believe
fully that I’m getting more productive.
Finally, we
tried the new (ish) grocery store Lidl.
I still like Aldi better, but have to say that as a donut shop, they
were pretty good. They had a round donut
(with hole) that was jelly filled. I’ve
never seen something like this, I don’t have any idea how they did it!
Physical
#5 – 678 miles – a good week. This projects to 4,300 miles so we’re on
pace!
#6 – 2,225.
Crossed through 2,000. They continue to get
easier, I’m wondering if 40 continuous push-ups might happen before the end of
the year.
Mental
#14 – I finished Ready Player
One! What a book for a nerd that grew up
in the 80s. So much fun to listen to – I
can’t wait for the movie.
#15 – If you have kids, you should
really listen to the “This Podcast Has Fleas” series. Sebastian is now addicted to them – very fun.
#16 – 13. Still getting better at this. It’s nice to remember people’s names
#18 –
Breakthrough on the Rubik’s Cube project.
I found a solution for the OLL parity that actually works! Now to see if I can remember it. This might well be the next goal to fall!
Relationship
#20 Instead
of going out for a bicycle ride (which later happened in the basement – ugh), I
chose to watch Emoji movie with the boys.
Meh on the movie. 5 stars on the
time watching with the boys
#26 – Over
100 books! This is right on pace with
where the annual goal is. I’m glad I
have this one – I like reading with them.
Environmental
#30 – At 5
pounds on the year. This is on pace, but
only just. Let’s just say it doesn’t
leave room for a Thanksgiving turkey….
#31 – Still
no bags with 12 shopping experiences.
Yes!
Miscellaneous
#38 – Lidl
grocery store has a bakery that is better than expected. Check it out if you have one near you!
#39 – As mentioned
above, I have done 40+ hours of improv!
Not bad!
