Week 5 Post - 1 month done

2/28 Weekly Update
Just over a month has gone by since I embarked on the quest to complete the 40 goals.  We may still be at 1 goal complete, but there are a great many that are making progress.   Perhaps more importantly since this is what the goals were about, I feel like my habits are changing.  On multiple evenings, just as I was about to plop down on the bed, I remembered that my pushups weren’t done and knocked them out before going to bed.  The behaviors are changing and hopefully this will lead to accomplishment.

It may just be the Spring weather, it may be the longer days, but one way or another, I'm growing very optimistic about both the goals and life in general.  It's a lot of fun frankly.

Skimming through the goals, I really need to get onto the thank you list.  I've got a lot of people to thank, I just need to start doing.

I've updated the sidebar on the goal status since we're a month in.  Other specifics are below.

Physical
#2 - While this isn't complete, some real progress has been made here.  Did a few "test drives" this week and it's looking promising.  Just 2 months until the real test!
#7 - First real commute into work!  Waiting for some more daylight before this becomes a bit more consistent

Mental
#14 - I finished Nudge and would HIGHLY recommend it.  Very good thought process and it's exciting to see Prof Thaler get the Nobel Prize for his work.
#15 - Wow in the World - Another great podcast to listen to with kids, I really recommend it!
Planet Money – Despite what might sound as an unappealing title, this is a fascinating podcast on topics you might never think of but might affect your world.
#18 - Getting closer on the 4x4x4 cube.  Just one or two more algorithms to learn before I'm really ready to test the 400 second barrier.

Relationships
#20 - I said that I would watch movies with family and I'm glad I phrased it this way.  The boys are more interested in shows vs movies and so the goal is at risk.  But, I did go see Black Panther with my brother-in-law which was a wonderful experience both to be able to visit with him and see a terrific movie.  Hopefully he and I can catch a few more to help move this goal along.

Environmental
While there was nothing really exciting here, we did have our house "inspected" by our energy company (Duke Energy).  They came out and gave us some good ideas on how to improve our energy usage in the house.  Nice!

Miscellaneous
Not much new here.  I was hoping to get into the mountains while in Virginia over the weekend, but the weather was not at all cooperative.  Next time!
