Week 3 Update

2/7 Weekly Update

The good news is that I didn’t directly fail at any of my goals this week.  The bad news is that I still have plenty of the goals that are well behind their projected target.  However, there are some that are moving right along and, thanks to a lot of flying/traveling, even the book reading has come along nicely.  Whoever might be reading this, both Sapiens and The Dream Manager were excellent.  I would recommend each, though for very different reasons.  If you end up reading Sapiens and it doesn't change the way you think about the world you live in, I'd really like to chat with you!

Progress Notes
Physical
#5 - Up to 210 miles on the year.  That's 70 miles a week vs a target of 77/week.  Nearly on pace!
#6 - 825 push-ups as of this morning.  Almost on pace!

Mental
#13 - One attempt, one failure.  I thought I had it before realizing that one column had two "9s" in it
#14 - 3 books in one week - that's a lot of travel time.  As mentioned above, two of them were great
#16 - Up to 4 and getting better about learning names.  I think this one might be sinking in....

Relationship
#26 - Up to 54 books already.  Unless the boys decide they like thicker books, we're looking good here

Environmental
#28 - Second "Navy" shower this week.  I still don't find them very enjoyable.
#30 - I asked for a Cobb salad and asked them to hold the bacon (though it was crushing to do so).  I didn't notice there was chicken on there.  Since it was already there, I of course ate it.  In 3 weeks, we're still less than a pound.
#31 - Still no plastic bags on the year

Miscellaneous
#35 - 3rd blog post here.
#36 - Squeezed in a bathroom cleaning mid-week
#38 - Two new donut shops while I was in Chicago.  Zettlmeiers in Tinley Park didn't have the best donuts (2 stars), but did have an excellent chocolate chip coffee cake.  Dough Guys in Chicago Ridge also has average (3 stars) donuts, but excellent coffee cakes
#39 - Another 2 hours of practice, though it was on a new game.  One day I'll be able to do improv well even in a game I'm learning.  For now, it was a good reminder of how amateur I am.
#41 - I was stuck in Chicago this week and with 8" of untouched snow, I decided to go out and enjoy it.  I'm glad I did - it was beautiful and quiet.
